John Guilt
John Guilt emerged after the mysterious disappearance of Maestro Echoplex. Some say that Maestro Echoplex became John Guilt, some say otherwise. In any event, John Guilt was initially comprised of John Berry (bass), TJ Lipple (drums), and Andrew Spencer Goldman (guitar, vocals). The band drew critical and fan acclaim around the world for its distinct folky-flavored rock. Or rocky-flavored folk?
In 2003, John Guilt released its critically-acclaimed and fan-adored debut full-length album, The Mirrors and Uncle Sam, on Munich Records in Europe. TJ Lipple left the band shortly after to start playing with Aloha, but not before John and Andy got their goodbye smacks in. And also not before recording the terrific three-song By Any Other Name EP. Donny Pecano joined the band on drums in late 2004 and ruled the kit with an iron fist (and foot).
John Guilt played its last show in 2005, but only after releasing two fine works to their name, various compilation appearances, and after performing many shows in the U.S. and Europe.
